"Florence and the Machine: Lungs." Smokey singer-songwriter vocals that rises above the predicability of Fiona Apple et al by giving the band enough room to give some killer grooves and hooks. A-.

"The Brother's Bloom." Truly clever moments and some great characterizations, but failed to effectively pull any of the desired heartstrings. Has a con-movie ever? The cons didn't save the day, either--they were always an a plot device, and never a true narrative focus...B-.
